Learning how to calculate speed

In Mr. Roffey’s 8th grade science class they set out to determine how to calculate speed. They mapped out a “track” of a predetermined distance. Each student then walked this “track” as they were timed to see how long it took. Later back in the classroom they each calculated the speed at which they walked.
